Talerddig in Great Western Days forms a sequel to Railway Through Talerddig. the author's earlier account of the Newtown & Machynlleth Railway (N&MR). It places the old N&MR within the context of the Central Division of the Great Western Railway and focuses on the years follow the grouping of 1922. when control of the line passed first to Paddington and later, during the period of nationalisation, to Euston. The GW introduced many improvements during its comparatively short regime of 25 years and five chapters of this account recall the influx of GW rolling stock: improved track and infrastructure: traffic and services: the second World War period. and from nationalisation to the end of steam in 1967. A sixth chapter. in the form of a photographic essay, records the more modern Cambrian.

33 plans and diagrams, 230 black & white and 73 colour photographs and 6 appendices enhance this account of the western section of the Cambrian line, which integrates careful research with personal observation.
