For over a decade Robert Forsythe has been researching the history.of model railway manufacturers. Over that time, the results have appeared in numerous magazines. Now, Amlor Publishing is proud to present a full length volume devoted to an area of the interest largely neglected until now. Over 375 concerns have offered British outline model loco-motive kits and hardly any have their own history. Names like K's and Wills were once the stock-in-trade of the modeller, today their, models often linger unbuilt or unrecognised for what they are.

Thanks to the support of Amlor Publishing, twenty 4mm scale ranges are being researched in detail. Six are presented in this volume. They are K's, Cotswold, Stephen Poole, Nu-Cast, Wills, and South Eastern Finecast. Researched from the magazines of the period and often with the active assistance of the manufacturers themselves, this volume will become a landmark in model railway history. The quality of the research is supplemented by specially commissioned imagery from the Dave Wheatstone collection and from renowned model photographer Tony Wright who contributes the foreword.
