Hornby Magazine Yearbook No. 7
Hornby Magazine has established its place in model railway publishing by providing accessible information on railway modelling. Whether you are a seasoned modeller, a newcomer or returning after time away from model railways, there is plenty to interest you in every issue of the magazine, published on the second Thursday of every month. In this seventh edition of the Hornby Magazine Yearbook the North Eastern Region of British Railways is the prime source of inspiration for a layout build which features the unique atmosphere of a branch line railway system built in '00' gauge by Hornby Magazine Editor Mike Wild.
In this Yearbook we will guide you through the process of building a model railway showing how this layout - Shortley Bridge and Felton Cement Works - has been developed from the Operation Build It! terminus station which featured as a series build in the magazine. Features include track laying, baseboard construction, landscaping, weathering, detailing, how to build a cement works and much more including historical features and step by step guides. Each feature is fully illustrated with detailed construction photographs and includes work by well known Hornby Magazine contributor's Tim Shackleton, Paul Chetter and Nigel Burkin. Plus we bring you our annual review of the new models released during 2013/2014 and summarise the 80 plus new locomotives which are currently in various stages of production for release in coming years.
This volume of the Hornby Magazine Yearbook is a must-have addition for modellers of all ages and skill levels and offers a tantalising view of the potential of railway modelling.
