Looking Back at Shunters II: The British Railways Workshops
To tell the story in full colour we have increased this volume to 120-pages as we look at those early shunters in the 12xxx and 15xxx series from the pre-nationalisation designs.
Then we take a good look at the many differences that existed within what became Classes 08, 09 & 10 as the standard 350hp shunter through the 1950s until the mid-1980s when the multicoloured swap shop of liveries began to appear.
Instead, we look at the huge number of variations that you may have missed from the days of black, green and blue liveries.
Tinsley's hump shunters are covered from their construction at Darlington through their service years in the yard.
Next a chance to examine the popular Class 03, once again from their very first days until the late 1980s. Taking in some of the variations, liveries and workings from their service days with archive colour photographs from the era.
120-pages HARDBACK with a limited print run of just 500 copies.
