The Banbury and Cheltenham Railway 1887-1962
Author Jim Russell, born in Banbury, has captured the details of the line very well. The book contains detailed period pictures and track plans of every station and halt on the line as well as descriptions concerning the changes over the years. The details are given of locomotives and rolling stock that used the line throughout its history. The line drawings of 16 of these locomotives from a well tank built by Stevensons to the Swindon built Manor class are invaluable.
The book concentrates on the physical aspects, and is to those interested in learning about a unique piece of the railway network and it's service to the local community.
Hardback with dust jacket, 140 pages with numerous illustrations drawings and plans.
